I had the pleasure of being served by Megan at Slug and Lettuce during our brunch with a friend, and it was truly exceptional. Megan's efficiency in delivering drinks and food promptly enhanced our dining experience, making it a memorable visit. Her attentiveness and quick service added a positive touch to our time at the restaurant. Highly recommend Megan for her outstanding service.
Reserved a table at 5:30 and ordered 5 minutes later - food arrived 55 minutes later. Ordered drinks at the same time and they were not delivered for 30 minutes and left on the bar too so we had to get them ourselves. When food arrived, there was no cutlery provided with the food or available at the sides, neither were any sauces offered - it took 10 minutes for the cutlery to be available so food went cold whilst we waited (had a curry (incredibly spicy) and smothered chicken and peas - so eating without wasn’t an option), one sibling resulted to trying to eat their food with a knife! Appreciate it was a busy Saturday night but there were too many issues to be acceptable.
As I was visiting friends in London, I decided to give Slug & Lettuce a second chance and I'm so happy I did! We got 3 Long Island (and some water) and they were very well made, not to mention the kindness of the manager, she's been extremely understanding and sweet with us all. I'm definitely visiting again ASAP ♡
We reserved a table for two at 5pm on a Saturday, really glad we did and strongly recommend the same for others visiting. Due to how extremely busy it was, naturally it was very loud, so take this in consideration if you have a hearing impairment/disability. The tables are quite close together and it can feel like you are on top of each other. We used the app to order our drinks, unfortunately we had to visit the bar to enquire where our drinks were after waiting 30 minutes. I am not sure if the bar is short staffed for various of issues or simply under staffed…. We ordered Christmas special cocktails which were not included in the special offer of buy one, get one free. Therefore we would expect the standard of the cocktail to appear what it is advertised in the menu, but this was not the case. We had to complain about our drinks, and thankfully they were remade for us. A shame they weren’t made how they should have been initially to have saved the inconvenience here.. We also ordered food but not all meals were available and again it was some time to wait for food. Food itself, was ok, nothing special. The toilets and stair case leading down to the toilets were really untidy and smelly. There was toilet roll scattered on the stairs and the toilets weren’t pleasant to use. Appreciate it is a high street pub as such but having extra staff and just other basic upkeep would make a lot of difference…. Some simple basic tweaks of requirements needed here for general overall improvement.
kai was incredible, so attentive, friendly and professional. would come back just for his lovely service alone! drinks were great and the venue has a good vibe. 5/5
