With one of the biggest shopping centres in London, Kingston is one of the best places around to spend a day out shopping and grabbing a bite to eat. There are also many sights to see whilst you are in town, such as the old market place.
The breathtaking Hampton Court Palace is just a few minutes away from Kingston, infamous for its world famous maze created from hedges in the palace gardens. The palace also welcomes in the annual Hampton Court Flower Show.

It was a good start went to the bar ordered drinks and foods. Starter came quite quickly, we thought it's very good until we noticed the only waitress working every time she brings in food she ask table by table if we/ they ordered this food, we thought don't she ask which table it is for, until we noticed 1 1/2 hours later we are still waiting for our main, went to check at the food counter I could only see burgers, 10 minutes later I could see no more food on the counter but 3 chefs standing behind doing nothing that's when I realised they haven't done our food, so it took nearly 2 hours for the food to come, we didn't get the vegetables, king prawns became tiny prawns, weird thing was went to work Monday morning one colleague telling us her worst ever dining experience when I ask if it was Slug and lettuce in Kingston, well you know the answer. The name suits well, service is slower than a slug, this place should be shut,
I would give 0 stars if possible. Waited exactly 35 mins for our food and my friends Salmon was completely charred and burnt. AND AND AND it wasn't even busy. Like 5 people in the whole restaurant. Never again. Awful. PLUS I'm pretty sure they have poisoned me because my coke was thicker than normal coke and tastes like chlorine.
When I visited it was a bit busy and tables took a while to clear. When cleared, the floor around it was dirty and the table was wiped and left with a puddle on it. Food then took a long time to arrive and was overcooked. The place seemed popular, but I think it was busy just because of the location. The staff looked demoralised and mentioned to me that they didn't like working there. The manager was spotted standing at the bar, getting in the way before standing about a metre outside the main doors, sending texts for about 20mins, whilst smoking. I might not have noticed him if his smoke didn't blow into the restaurant whilst was making my assault on the burnt pastry.
After standing with one person in front of me, with 3 visible staff, it took 3 minutes to be acknowledged. 1 bus boy clearing the least messy table each journey to the kitchen meaning we waited for a clean table... Ordered 3 coffees and 3 starters. The coffee arrived 17 minutes after ordering... and the food not moments before, we only had the coffee bright to us because we asked along with hanging to ask for serviettes, cutlery and sugar, while only 3 more groups had come in-between this time. This place is a joke, for the price they charge, even more so.
Regarding the slug and lettuce in Kingston upon Thames. The staff were very rushed. Felt bad taking up their time. The food is expensive for what it is. It came out looking old and a bit charcoal looking. It was not tasty or well presented. I would not recommend this restaurant or visit it again. either. We definitely will not recommend
