Stayed in Corris in a holiday cottage for just a few nights so took all my evening meals in the Slaters arms. Good food and real ale with friendly helpful service. They managed to fit me in even when I hadn't booked for a meal and they were busy. The place has a pleasant relaxed vibe as does the area.

When we arrived there was no parking outside but were told there's a free car park at the station a couple of minutes walk away. Had been worried about on street parking so this did put my mind at rest. The reception is the bar, basically and the young lady serving was brilliant from the word go. After putting our cases in the newly decorated room we came down for a drink and she set up a tab immediately. The rooms have a colour not a number and we were in Yellow. Bella the pub dog is gorgeous and really well behaved, but will happily take all the fuss you want to give her. The restaurant was fully booked but she was able to get us a table even changing our time as we had eaten later due to visiting the Mach Loop and just weren't really hungry. Whilst the evening meal was a nice pub scampi and chips the breakfast was something else. On arriving the receptionist had given us a list of breakfast options and this was great as we got to choose exactly what we wanted. Most B&B's we have visited only offer a set meal at The Slater's I chose what I wanted and it arrived hot. When we next visit the Mach Loop we will definitely try to book a room here first before trying anywhere else. The locals were really friendly in the village as well pretty much everyone we saw said "Good morning". The only thing I will say is that there is no garden area just a couple of benches on the pavement so if it's hot and you want to sit out there's not much space. However the pub has been there a really long time so this hasn't been a problem so far.

We ordered food and drinks- the food was delicious and beer was good. The bar maid was very sweet and helpful. The pub is in a beautiful village and gets quite busy. Can't really rate this pub average as we came across the landlady who was not friendly. The opposite to friendly. I'll leave it there.
