I've been going to Cannich since 1975 the bar was always the hub of the community the old hotel was brilliant and When Jimuck opened the slaters arm's it was just as good the worst thing ever to happen was the new owners the place is never open, it would be great if the locals opened a bar down at the shinty field with basic food and the locals and the tourists would have somewhere to socialize.
The guy behind the bar hates hospitality so much that it is actually funny! Whilst I wouldn’t recommend this place to Anyone for the all of the above reasons, don’t eat here, stay here or Drink here but, if you’ve a thick enough skin, go in just to watch this fish outta water dude Seething as tourist after tourist with young children walk through the door and make their dogs bark 🤣 - he actually cracks up and shouts at folk lol! Could win an award or make a tv show sometime that’s highlighting the wrong turns of the hospitality industry ! The only pub in the village though so I’d recommend a bottle of wine from the spar next door and the back seat of your motor
Really warm welcome from the proprietor after we'd had a long and weary day on the Affric Kintail Way. Excellent selection of local beers and very comfortable lounge.
Food was absolutely incredible. As the closest restaurant to a big campsite, I wasn't expecting much, but I was really impressed. Honestly the best burger I've ever had! Staff were also very friendly (including the resident dogs!) Can't rate this place high enough!
This place is so cozy and the food was great! After a cold day hiking come here and get the Mutton hot pot (stew). It was a huge portion and tasted so good. The hostess was friendly great to talk with. I also got and oat milk latte and it was delicious 😋
