Booked a table for 21 people on Sunday! Sent pre orders in advance, and the service and food were amazing. There were quite a few of us, but the staff made sure we were well catered for ensuring drinks orders were taken. The food was lovely! I love coming to this pub, so I knew it would be a great location for our visiting family from Norfolk they loved it, and its in a beautiful setting! Thanks to Mel and the team for a lovely day!
Wonderful place to stay and perfect for families! Flat above pub is great – modern, spacious, clean and has everything you may need in a beautiful and peaceful location. The pub is gorgeous with a nice traditional vibe and the food is fantastic – seriously good! Mel & Nick who manage everything are just lovely people with a warm welcome and happy to help out with anything and everything. Plenty of space for parking and has an impressive play area for kids. Overall, we had a special few days in the New Forest staying at The Sir Walter Tyrrell and would love to go back there again!
This is a great find, just a few hundred yards off the main road with a big carpark and great walking. It's a big pub and was pretty quiet when we came in on a Monday lunchtime. The staff were friendly, the beer was good and even though it was 3pm, we were able to choose whatever we wanted from an extensive menu. Food was freshly prepared and good value for money. We'll come back.
Lovely spot in the heart of the New Forest a stone throw off the A31, we love stopping here after a walk in the forest it has such a stunning view year round at sunset we’ve spotted a variety of wildlife straight from the pub front sitting area. There’s a large play area for kids and it’s dog friendly, there’s a camp site to the rear and it has a local historical sight a 5 minute walk up the road. We look forward to coming again soon! Popped in for coffees after visiting The Rufus Stone. Great pub with huge outside seating areas & children's play area. Beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.
