Come and join us at our amazing country pub set in the beautiful Shropshire countryside and sample our modern British dishes and craft beers.
Licensees Matt Tommey and Kay Phasey have spent their lives working towards this point. Both have considerable experience and know what it takes to run a bustling, popular country inn.
Matt began his career at Hobsons Brewery, working up from the bottom. He started out doing part-time bar jobs and quickly graduated to management. He ran the Charlton Arms and The Church Inn, both in Ludlow, for Cedric and Claude Bosi. After that, it was time to go it alone and with two business partners he ran the successful Bennetts End, in Knowbury, near Clee Hill, which was a huge success. His partner, Kay, has similar experience, having also worked at Ludlow Food Centre. They settled down at The Cross Keys, at Kinnerley, where they provide a warm welcome for locals and visitors alike.
Their vision to ensure the pub remains at the heart of community, welcoming locals who want to socialise over a drink as well as guests looking for sensational food. They have built a strong drinking trade by keeping exceptional ales while the quality of food means The Cross Keys is also a destination food pub that welcomes people from far and wide. In many ways, tradition is at the heart of their work. They are firmly embedded in the local community and serve regular customers with considerable pride. They are passionate about their local village and put that first.

Excellent Sunday lunch. Perfect portion size. Beef cooked nice and pink. Veggie alternative very nice also. Cake and poached pear dessert was equally excellent. Will gladly be back!
Wonderful meal, the food was absolutely delicious from the taste to the presentation and the service was first class!! We received our food quickly and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Beautifully decorated throughout and we would highly recommend. We’ll definitely be back!
We had a lovely meal for five people, the food was excellent, with a narrow range, but excellent choice, the wine was reasonably priced and the atmosphere was clean and tidy and well appointed. The pub has a separate bar and restaurant so it’s great if you want to go for a drink or just want to go for a meal in a separate dining room. There is an outside smoking area with dartboard and plenty of outdoor seating for a hot sunny day. And really recommend this pub food was excellent. I will definitely be back
Great food and atmosphere, it's a really old building with loads of character. Lots of outdoor space with a kids play area next to it, dog and family friendly.
Delicious food and quality products. Really good service as well. The only restaurant in Wales that worth to dine in! 100% recommended it for someone who travels in Wales and don’t know where to eat good food!!
