Stayed here for one night, what a fantastic experience, friendly staff, lovely food. A traditional country pub with a very nice personal touch which made our visit memorable. Fully recommended
The pub is excellent good range of drinks very friendly staff. The food was great. The room we stayed in was excellent a good shower and very comfy bed. If we return to the area we will stay here again.
Wonderful discovery! An Inn in a very rural country town with a fine Restaurant and great Pub. Super friendly staff. Food was wonderful and the characters at the pub on a Saturday night made for the best experience. Perhaps the standing area at the bar can maybe only for 8-10 people but that was the best place to be. They have some other seating area in the bar area, but most of the people who want to talk to each who came separately all hang out in front of the bar. One of the ales they serve is made about 100 feet away. All natural and great tasting. I had some traditional starters for my dinner which were nice. They only had one room left when I booked it so O stayed in Cottage #2 which was way more space than I needed. Two bedrooms upstairs, a kitchen and separate living room downstairs plus backyard which one could certainly have a BBQ and a large field to perhaps play frisbee if the weather ever allowed it. I also learned the rector of the St. Michael’s church up the road in the early 1800’s was Jane Austen’s first cousin and she spent time in the town apparently using it as a backdrop for some parts in her book “Pride and Prejudice.” I hope to be back with my family and visit all the friends I made “in the middle of nowhere.”
Great place to stay for night. Great place to eat hand made food ( breakfast, dinner ). Friendly people, great atmosphere. If you wont to get out from big and noisy place's - hotel's , this the BEST place. Definitely we will get BACK

Great locals village pub. Chinese Restaurant attached for take out or eat in. Quiz night last Wednesday of every month for a chosen charity.
