We have breakfast here before we start our game shooting days. Mark and Lyndsey are excellent hosts. Good service and the food is always hot and tasty. It is an excellent way to start the day for us, fantastic.
We popped to this lovely pub for Sunday dinner today. The food was absolutely incredible. Everything tasted amazing and the portion sizes were very generous, for a very reasonable price! The staff were so welcoming, friendly and attentive! Dog friendly. Would absolutely recommend!
Loved it!! Over the last few years we’ve tended to stay at Air BnBs. Problem there not many have a pub attached…… So this was a very pleasant step back in time. Communication from the start was clear and timely, I booked direct rather than through a 3rd party provider……it was cheaper…..😘 Anyway upon arrival we were shown to our room, small and compact would be the best way to describe it. But it was exactly what we wanted….. Downstairs for a pint, unfortunately arrived too late for dinner. Had a great chat with the owner who was engaging, even allowed me to buy him a 🍺 TBF he did offer to return the compliment but I was too tired to take part. Next morning, down to breakfast and partook in the offering of a full English, delicious….. Unfortunately it was early October and the promised views were unavailable due to the local fog……will have to go back and take in the full alleged majesty of it all. Bottom line, if you need somewhere for a holiday, 1 night stop or just a Sunday lunch, this is the place if you’re in the vicinity. BTW good luck with the ongoing renovations……
Parked overnight in our motorhome, had a few pints, very friendly staff and owner beers n cider were great. Had full cooked breakfast in morning, nice walks and village dog friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
We had a lovely meal here, 5 different dishes (all homemade), all beautiful. Pizza was excellent and would highly recommend the burgers. Also an excellent choice of vegetarian options. Choice of 4 casks, 2 X Black Sheep (lovely couple of pints of best bitter) 1 X Theakstons and TT Landlord. Staff and Landlord very friendly (an old school landlord who actually takes time to speak to you and have a laugh). Would definitely recommend
