It's a nice pub in a lovely village. They do quite a lot for the community, which is a nice touch. Definitely worth a visit.
Lovely snack for lunch. Menu was a bit restricted. I had Welsh rarebit and my significant other had flat iron. Food was excellent. Kitchen had 5 star grading. All clean and tidy. Deco was a bit mismatch. Good atmosphere for the time of day. Bar attendant very good.
We called in here on our way to Tintern , we had a lovely breakfast , really good value for money , really tasty , service was great . We will be back . Dog friendly as well
We stopped here at The Ship and very glad we did! Down to earth and friendly service fantastic homemade lasagne and chips and good gammon and chips at a very reasonable price. Don’t go to the more upmarket hotel next door, they were v. stuffy & rude about offering us a hot meal as they had no room in their restaurant but wouldn’t entertain us in the bar the lounge or the garden.
We stopped by this pub on the way back from Pembrokeshire and we all cleaned our plates - probably the best sandwiches we've had 👍 - fresh and tasty, proper melt cheese and cooked beef. And lovely country chips. Friendly and considerate staff. Dogs friendly place.

Award winning pub & restaurant, just outside of Abergavenny. Set in its own large grounds, The Clytha Arms is family run, warm & welcoming. There's also lots of local walks, cycling & fishing.
