Stopped off for a quick drink after a long walk. What a welcome! The lady behind the bar was delightful. Made friends with a local dog. It was so cosy I wished we could have stayed longer. Nice area out the back. I’ll definitely visit next time I’m down.

Friendly staff, tasty fish and chips, and a side salad, but it’s more expensive than in London, for lunch it costs 16 pounds for a large portion fish and chips and the portions are smaller.

Very homely, great staff, excellent food and large portion sizes, super comfy bed, quite, great for walkers.

Lovely local pub, very friendly welcome from the landlord (the banter flowed effortlessly), well kept beer (Tribute was delicious) and the food was simple but done well. The batter on the fish was light and crisp, portions were generous and the tartare sauce home made. The beer garden is very pretty with the wonderful bubbling sound of a stream making the setting serene. Well worth a visit if you are at the nearby Veryan camp site.

The Ship Inn in Portloe is a real gem among the pubs in Cornwall and on the South West Coast Path - a place for you to make yourself feel at home. They serve hearty pub-classics, a fixture on the menu are burgers and fish & chips that I can recommend. Service is very friendly. Rooms are cosy and comfortable. Would definitely come back.
