Great location, lots for the kids, very friendly service and outstanding food. The only problem we had was a long wait for food. The Ship Inn is on the right at the corner of the road c1950s. On October 27th 1834 John King, shopkeeper, bought the land at the edge of the canal and built two dwelling houses. On December 2nd 1850 John King made a will in which one house is referred to as the Ship Inn with tenant Thomas Bailey.
Great food. Friendly and attentive staff. Had to wait quite a while but it was worth waiting for. Will definitely visit again.
Camped nearby so popped in after a long walk, very friendly staff, big choice of drinks, Inc non alcoholic choices too. Food amazing. Thank u, will b bk.
Had a brilliant evening at the ship inn. Spoke to them the day before, booked a table and a spot for our campervan. Fantastic welcome, great atmosphere and an amazing country pub. Food was outstanding and we don't say that lightly! Nothing was too much trouble, everyone was super friendly and I even got to take a glass of wine to the van with me. Look forward to a repeat visit!! Thank you team 💕
Lovely pub since my last visit (many years ago). It has been refurbished, beautifully done, and had a change of ownership. They are really helpful and give the place a great atmosphere. Although we did not have a meal there, the plates that we saw going out were of lovely generous proportions.
