Visited for Sunday lunch and chose here based on the excellent reviews on Google and trip advisor. On the whole it was a very average experience. Pub is very old and rustic and likely steeped in history; but could definitely do with a spruce up inside to make it more welcoming. Sunday lunch options were good and after ordering it arrived at our table promptly. Food was clearly home cooked, but was not piping hot, and not particularly tasty. Service was good, host was friendly.
A secluded, quaint, and tranquil inn. Great price. Truly a hidden gem of Dorset. The owners are good people - friendly, yet discreet. Georgia, one of the hosts, can be found working the bar at the pub, which offers quality food and drink. Short drive away from Lyme Regis and Charmouth.
What a lovely stay we had here after a long 6 hour trip from Preston. The rooms was lovely, warm and cosy. Shame about the pub being closed but hey ho, it was an absolute bargain!
Absolutely incredible Sunday lunch ....worth travelling to Dorset is just for this ( obviously there are many other reasons to go to Dorset 😄 ) Excellent value, generous portion, good quality and selection of items, friendly service, snug restaurant, what more could be said? We will be back as quickly as possible.....
Fascinating historic Inn, deep in Dorset and away from traffic. Situated in idyllic countryside this is truly a traditional pub, serving real ale and pub food. The staff were chatty and interested in you as a customer and even came out to the lovely garden with cordial conversation.
