About us

Coffee & Ale House in the Heart of Aberdeen

At The Craftsman Company we do a small number of things, but we do them well, with care and pride. We curate a selection of artisan coffees, craft beers, and simple but wholesome dishes within a café culture environment, morning or evening.

The segregation of coffee and beer has been long-standing in our city, but The Craftsman has set out to reunite these long-lost-lovers in an atmosphere which is unique to our brand. We are passionate about providing a city-centre platform to independent coffee and beer brewers; where their crafts can be experienced and enjoyed by fellow enthusiasts.

As an independent business we can respond very quickly to what our customers want, and this gives us a lot of scope for exciting special editions. We love what we do, and we know a lot about coffee and beer, but we won’t let that intimidate you. If you are a novice to artisan brews, we’ll help you to find something you’ll love, with no fuss.

We hope that you’ll be as passionate as we are about everything that makes The Craftsman what it is. You’ll get a sense of our appreciation for quality from our materials displays, where we proudly showcase elements of The Craftsman DNA; from the wood used to build our bar, to the beans in your coffee, or the hops in your beer.

Hands down, the best espresso martini in town. That I've had at least. It's also the most expensive one I've had in Aberdeen but oh, boy is it good. There's usually a better craft beer selection than what I saw available on this visit. I don't recall seeing any porters or stouts. Pretty good coffee, too if you're looking for locally roasted whole beans. Not as good as Figment and that ilk, but still pretty good. Better than Macbeans that's for sure! The decor is very cool, the food always looks amazing. Lots of baked goods to choose from as well. I've been here several times for a pint, a drink or a coffee - which they offer a variety of preparations including pour-over. Must come back and try the food sometime!

A fabulous brunch or lunch spot. Quirky and full of character. They have vegan and vegetarian brunch options. The Mexican bread toast is lovely, with high quality bread 👌 As a craft beer place, they also have lots of cocktails, but do coffee too - you can buy coffee beans to take home.

Lovely, chill vibe. I went on Sunday for Mother’s Day and enjoyed delicious open sandwiches followed by amazing ginger cake. The coffee was lovely too. I will be back to try the pizzas in the evening. Great welcoming atmosphere, highly recommend!

I'm fond of a visit here when in the area. There is a good selection of beer, gin and tasty cocktails. Food is good and more creative than what is on offer in the surrounding area, I enjoyed a Pesto Egg Sandwich. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, in a venue that has a casual and social vibe.
