Lovely pub with good prices and good service. Sometimes live music. No food served here
First time I visited this pub and it is awesome! Pool, darts, cocktails, jukebox. Great atmosphere. It's out of the way so not a pub you would just walk past, but it's a must find.
Decent place. Friendly staff. Haven't been here for a while, slightly strange atmosphere. Music played is rock and metal, which is cool enough. Dove bar vibes. But the decor is the same as it was years ago, country pub filled with antiques kind of feel. Doesn't quite gel with the music and atmosphere. But it's OK. Still a great spot to stop off, and great staff.
I never leave a review and although the place itself and the musician was good... the toilets were not in a good condition and looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a long long time. They were absolutely disgusting and it has put me off coming back.
I was told this was a local haunt of Kit Marlowe when he left the safety of Deptford ….so I was not all surprised to hear that the Jesus and Mary Chain worked on their first LP here!!!
