We had an absolutely fantastic meal at the Arms. The pie was the best I have ever had and the portions (starter and mains) were huge. Beer (Landlord) was excellent.

I highly recommend The Sawley Arms! First, everyone was incredibly friendly - they made us feel at home. Second, the food was delicious. Their warm, baked bread was so good - the perfect crunch and a soft interior. The carrot and parsley soup of the day was very tasty and homey. I appreciated the wealth of vegetarian and vegan options. We had spiced wine that was very good! For dessert, we shared the crumble of the day (apple) and the sticky toffee pudding. Both the desserts were so fresh and delicious! I definitely would love to return here.

Stayed nearby and enjoyed a few meals here during our stay. A little on the pricey side, but the food was amazing, especially the sunday roast which was cooked just right. The potatoes and cauliflower were delicious. One of my favorite things was the toffee pudding. Staff were friendly and gave us information about the area because we planned to take walks and visit the Fountains Abbey.

We found this place very expensive and unremarkable . I had the prawns cocktail which wasn't great,my husband had the soup which was okay. My chicken cesear salad was okay ,my husbands fish pie was tasty but he couldn't eat it for 20 minutes as it was steaming hot .I thought it very cheeky to take an £8 ,tip without consent especially with an already over priced menu. Surroundings were nice and staff pleasant .Far better places around both for quality and cost .

This was our first visit. The food was very disappointing. Not in the same league as the nearby Chequers Inn where we have eaten frequently over the last fifteen years. To start, a mediocre prawn cocktail. For mains, the Haddock was excellent but the chips were inedible. They tasted rancid and weren’t even cooked through or crispy on the outside. The Gammon wasn’t bad, but I’ve had better in Weatherspoons. The portion of peas was so minute that it was pointless. And both fried eggs had been cooked until they were rock solid. After that we didn’t dare risk dessert. On the positive side, the drinks were excellent and the young lady serving was delightful. We were given £7:50 off the bill as compensation, which seemed wholly inadequate for a ruined evening. We paid the remaining £55 and departed as swiftly as possible. Never to return again.
