The Sandpiper was originally a farmhouse called Holly Farm. It has only recently been converted into the pub restaurant that you see today. The surrounding area is full of interesting history, the town of Bickerstaffe being an important local centre for the Quakers of West Lancashire.

Booked here for an early Sunday dinner. Very busy when we arrived but we were quickly seated in a quiet part of the pub. The menu is quite varied for a Sunday, the usual choice of roast plus several traditional pub dishes. When our food arrived, it was fresh and portions very generous. Overall, all dishes were delicious, all plates clean. Staff were superb, very attentive, polite and not over bearing, just how we like it. We really enjoyed our dining experience here, we'll be sure to return very soon. š
Lovely meal, staff were very accommodating, and lovely too. We had mini dessert and coffee, which was just right. We weren't rushed at all, and left the same time as the staff š . Will definitely go back.
It was well presented, clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was decent for the price and the drinks were well made. I'd recommend this place to anybody looking for a nice quintessential pub meal and atmosphere.

Lovely place, lovely setting, location great. Food lovely. Staff very nice and attentive. Attended with my children who were super well behaved after a day in Southport. The place was quiet but welcoming. Food fab. Kids ate everything. Would definitely come again.
