Shaun & Helen would like to welcome you the The Railway in Oakham. We're a traditional English pub with traditional English values...Good beer, good food & good company.
As well as our main bar, we have small back room with a pool table & a function room, that is available to hire. We have full Sky Sports & BT Sports coverage, shown on our 13 screens throughout the pub.
We recently won the PRS For Music "MusicMakeover" competition and, as a result, have installed a full PA system, along with lighting, a house drum kit & other instruments. These are housed in our function room, which is now known as Platform One @TheRailway. We're rapidly gaining a reputation for staging high quality gigs by both local musicians & those from further afield. In fact, we're known as the place to go for live music in Rutland. Check our "What's on" page for up-coming gigs. As part of our policy of supporting live music, Platform One is available for use as a rehearsal/practice space to any musicians who want to use it, at no cost. If you'd like to use it, get in touch & we'll let you know if it's available, it's proving very popular!.

Hired the function room out for our sons christening party on 12th March the staff were welcoming and asked how I'd like the room setting up ect, Service with a smile as always and friendly anything we needed they helped with all round amazing staff definatly going to hire the room again x
Decent little place - proper locals pub! Cheap beer and staff were lovely. Once grievance was that it did feel like a local and thus the crowd didn't seem too pleased we popped in for a drink.
Cracking pub, good beers, friendly and welcoming staff, juke box, pool table and dartboard, regular Saturday night entertainment with live music. Big function room that can be hired out for private partys. Friendly locals.
Great family friendly pub, great service and always feel welcome, from putting your own music on the music box and football on the multiple TVs they have to offer they can cater to anyone and need i not mention the incredible sunday lunch they do.
