Rooms and decor a little dated with torn carpets. Good single bed mattress. Service at reception Good. Bring ear plugs as hallway noisy with people walking up and down. Value for money

Chose this hotel as very close to the Receptionist friendly enough. Parking good, but £9 come on. No restaurant or bar but pizza, wine, and bottled cider were very welcome. Noticed on the way to our room 61, that the hotel corridors could do with brightening up very dowdy. We were it seemed in the lower parts of the hotel as we had to go downward, I had a feeling that there would be no window in the room, and to be honest it was like a windowless room, as there was some sort of bush/tree blocking the light. But that wasn't my first thought of the room, which was how cold the room was, it was bitter, I turned the thermostat up, but it took hours for the room to heat to a comfortable temperature. The room small and dismall, and it looked clean enough but so out of date. And very small. The bathroom looked OK clean, but the large shower needs re grouting and new sealant as they were scarred with black mould. I know it has been a very bad time for hotels, and investment money is rare, but maybe a few tins of paint could help. All in all, would I go back? Sorry no

Straight forward check in. There is no lift, so be sure to make staff aware if you need a ground floor room/wheel chair access when booking. The lady on reception did offer us a ground floor room, but these were single rooms only. Car parking is £9.00 for 24 hours and you’re not guaranteed a space. The hotel itself needs some time and money spending on it. The Lady on reception was nice and polite.

Period property, poorly maintained, outside of the lobby and rear entrance areas which are not a reflection of what to expect outside of these areas. Corridors tired, wall paper bubbling in areas. Skirting boards tired and some appliance boxes held on by tape. The room was ‘very small’ with an undersized single bed, not suitable for anyone over 5ft 8” approximately. Fittings tired and carpet thread bare as you enter the bathroom. Bathroom floor tiles are quite nice but need re grouting and especially the shower area. General poor maintenance of the room. The ‘Shower’ not the shower floor, was the redeeming feature of the whole room. The mattress was tired laminated industrial sponge. I’m surprised that the establishment can feature on well known sites as accommodation especially at the room rate charged and additional costs to park on sight.

Room far to small. Window was behind bed and headboard was about 6 foot, so room felt very claustrophobic. Hotel no good for disabled as stairs everywhere. Staff were lovely and breakfast was good, although I went for another cup of tea to be told the area was now closed. Would be a good idea for the server to inform guests maybe 5 minutes before they start clearing everything away, then that would give guests the chance for another cuppa etc.
