Excellent beers are well kept and at great prices for us over charged southerners
Great real ale oasis in a beer desert with a bus stop virtually outside. The work in progress exterior currently doesn't do the interior justice. An excellent choice of well kept ales, including a mild and all at sensible prices. Landlord very friendly and welcoming. Best bet in the Grimsby / Cleethorpes area.
Refurbished 2.5yrs ago, so don’t worry about the older negative reviews. Sam and Andrew have done an excellent job refurbishing this old pub, excellent hosts with sky sport pool table and good beer well worth a visit to this hidden Gem 🙂🍺
I have been a regular at the Rutland since Sam and Andrew took over, A real pub, with real ale ,real good ale. and run as a pub should be, never have I had a reason to complain.. the staff are great, the pub welcoming, and helpful, do not take my word [although its all true ] go have a pint, you'll be glad you did.. Keith, stay safe.
What a fantastic find, slightly off the beaten track, excellent beers and ales and an immaculately clean, refurbished interior with a friendly and knowledgeable landlord who actually cares about the quality of what's being served, and can talk beer and sports all day (what he doesn't know about beer simply isn't worth knowing). Don't be put off by the outside appearance, the place is still being renovated. If you walk past this pub, you'll be missing an absolute treat, it's one of those gems you rarely find these days.
