Had a lovely catch up with family.The pub was warm and cosy. The food was hot, tasty and good value for money. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. Would return and recommend.
Been here a handful of times and been impressed by the ambience, food and staff. However, we walked in today, purchased two beers and asked for some menus. The woman behind the bar refused to allow us to order food as we were 'walk ins' and that we could only eat after 4pm (It was about 1:30). All we wanted to order were some starters which were relatively simple to put together. If you choose to give customers menus when they order beverages, then you should be clear about food. Had we known we would have been refused service we would have chosen another location. Edit** after coming back to the location I was very happy with the service. Management was great with dealing with my concern. We had the steak and ale pie as well as the trio of roasts. Both massive portions. Really happy with the food and service
Me and my family came here for a meal on Thursday we were served by the very polite waitresses, Katie and Charlotte. I had the garlic mushrooms and mixed grill which were really lovely, my husband had from the festive menu which also looked and tasted delicious. This pub is beautiful with great staff and a warm friendly atmosphere, we definitely recommend and will be back soon!
We had been doing some walking locally in Wyre Forest and decided to go for a meal, we had seen this pub on way so I initially tried to book a table whilst out and about - no luck, it kept telling me that the table I had chosen had just been got by someone else. After trying different times for about 10 mins I gave up and thought we would take a chance and pop in on way past. We got there and we really shouldn't have worried, loads of space! No idea what the website was doing.. ! We ordered food fairly swiftly and it didn't take overly long for food to come out. A couple of the meals were a bit larger than expected, which with a growing apetite I think was a welcome surprise. Food quality was generally OK and service was OK too, although considering the lack of people in the pub it did on occasion take a bit of time to grab attention for another drink, or to get more sauce for kids etc. I think we were all happy to have stopped by for food and a drink, so it all worked out well in the end! Kids also got to have a short go on the play area at the back - but it was only a small area!
A nice time at the Running Horse last night. The food was good, and the drinks were good too…loses a star for being slightly overpriced and not having the arancini! Unfortunately also ran out of captain Morgan’s spiced rum… Atmosphere was lovely, just a shame there wasn’t any table service outside.
