Great price including a full breakfast Staff were friendly and helpful Room was very clean, love the add convenience of fresh milk in a cold flask such an nice touch Eat on the evening, well prepared tasty food Wonderful Xmas decorations
Staff, location and atmosphere wonderful, but the food left a lot to be desired. I had skinny fries with my meal and half of them were hard in the middle, and the peas were like bullets. I had a fruit pie for dessert and the pastry wasn't cooked on the bottom. Really disappointed.
Food and drink is probably the best you'll get in the area in terms of hitting both good food and good price. Place is dog friendly. We did a wait for our drinks and needed to go back up to ask why they hadn't arrived yet. However staff were super nice and apologetic and I believe it was just a genuine mistake. Thus I belive that that once a one off mistake.
Lovely location, good beer and interior but the nut roast Sunday lunch option was very disappointing - basically a gloopy brown-coloured rice mixture shoved in a mould a with a few pumpkin seeds and dried cranberries on top to give the appearance of a nut roast. If there were any nuts in it, I couldn't detect any. The gravy had the uniform colour and flavour of granules too and the veg was average. Cheap ingredients and terrible value at around £16 a pop, for what was essentially a bit of rice and veg. The other diners I was with were fairly happy with their meals, but no one was bowled over. We went because the reviews were pretty good -maybe their usual chef was off.
