This review is not for the hotel. This review is for the restaurant. My son has autism and unfortunately he has a very select diet. The only things he can eat are potato products such as chips and waffles, a few fish products and sirloin steaks. He usually goes the kings arms in Bebington for sirloin and chips but today there is an issue so they aren’t serving food. He has been sick for 2 weeks straight and frankly was so bad he should have been hospitalised. He has just started to get over the illness so wanted to celebrate with his favourite food. Sirloin steak and chips. Anyway we called up the Royal Oak and 2 women answered the phone together and when I asked if they had sirloin they asked a 3rd member of staff wether they sold sirloin steaks and they replied to me with yes. After 20 minutes of driving we get there and find out we had been lied to. Really we should have gotten compensation for the fuel and time we wasted not even mentioning the child becoming extremely upset. Being lied to on purpose especially when a child with serve autism and such a select diet is involved is just pure evil. I do hope someone who knows what it’s like to have to deal with an autistic child’s tantrum/meltdown sees this and knows how careless this was of the restaurant. From our perspective we believe we were completely lied to as we see no reason that 3 staff don’t know whether they serve a particular popular cut of steak. Absolutely atrocious. Avoid going to this restaurant at all costs

So out of all the hungry horse pubs we go to this always seems to be the best one, when the food comes it's like they do a little bit more / put a bit more effort into it and chips ( with Korean burger ) come with flavouring on them but only here.!! Like the chef is actually bothered to make the food taste nice 👍🏼

Basic rooms but for the right price. Staff in the pub for evening meal are amazing and went well out of their way to accommodate to our needs. Food portions are big, tasty and well worth the money.

A nice friendly family pub serving clean beer and decent food. There's a small indoor soft play that's free for the kids and an outdoor park in the summer. Prices are fair, parking is free

We only went for a quick Hungry Horse lunch and actually we were pleasantly surprised. Food was nice, service was quick, staff were friendly and helpful and prices very reasonable. Couldn't fault anything really. The table in the booth we were in could have done with a fresh coat of varnish...but that was the only improvement I could think of really....not much is it?
