About us

On Sunday’s the famous Columbia road flower market is vibrant, bustling, full of characterful street sellers and people alike. We serve classic British food throughout the week and legendary roast dinners on Sundays.

Upstairs at The Royal Oak is a characterful dining room and wine bar…with a carefully crafted wine list offering some of our favourite organic, biodynamic and natural wines from ecologically minded producers from France Spain and beyond.

We have priced the wines very reasonably in order to allow you to drink well without spending too much and feel confident to try new styles of wine….?

There is a limited selection of amazing fine wines at incredible value for that special occasion.

Upstairs offers a sanctuary from the ever busy pub downstairs and general hubbub of east London. A new private dining room seating up to 12 people is open for the first time in 50 years and is now open for bookings.

Our modern European seasonal menu offers customers a selection of small, large and sharing plates in an informal dinning way.

Great place for a chicken Sunday roast. We managed to grab a walk-in table downstairs after the flower market & NYE! It was rammed but had a lively atmosphere. I’d suggest booking upstairs ahead of time if you can, where there’s possibly table service instead of ordering at a busy bar

Roast was really tasty. Ordered the pork and it was so flavoursome. Roast potatoes weren't the best I've had but everything else was good. We asked for extra gravy and it was no problem at all.

Nice pub, really lively, good options for some local brews and friendly staff. It gets pretty busy but a good option for going out on Colombia Road

I went for Sunday roast, Columbia road was bustling with the flower market. So I would definitely recommend booking your table in advance. Service was good, friendly staff. The atmosphere was lovely upstairs, we were lucky to have beautiful sunshine weather beaming through. The food was good, simple trimmings (cabbage, carrots and roast potatoes, Yorkshire pud) served with gravy on the side, but I've given this 3 stars because you only get two incredibly thin slices of beef, and considering the price point I was shocked to see this. Because of this I'm torn whether I would come again. It's such a lovely pub.

A clean simple neighborhood pub offering a selection of keg beers and ciders along with a couple of cask ales for those who enjoy their beer a little warmer. The Royal Oak is a pretty pub on Road. Clothed by wood panelled walls in sumptuous dark mahogany colours it makes a great place to sit and enjoy a beer. There is a small but interesting lunch menu, attractively priced. Also a small suntrap courtyard to the rear of the pub. All well done. I love the art deco lights and the white shiny ceiling.
