2 older members of my family where on holiday in the area they walked 2 miles to come for a Sunday dinner at this pubā¦ the staff where very rude and says they could not have a big table as there is only 2 of them and there was no small tables availableā¦ this is disgusting when they walked 2 mile just to visit
We are staying in Gillamoor on a family holiday and have visited the Royal Oak on a couple of occasions. We have a son in a wheelchair and an assistance dog, so not always easy to accommodate. The staff, have been very welcoming, the pub has a very friendly atmosphere and the Sunday lunch was fantastic and very good value.. We willbe returning before we leave
I visited this hotelās restaurant tonight 28/7/23 I ordered chicken with barbecue sauceā¦ When it came it smelled distinctly off curry, which I hate! I queried this & was told it did not have curry flavouring but I beg to differ. I was not offered an alternative or had an apology. I accepted the meal but left most of it because of the curry flavour. I would have expected a hotel of this standing to have treated my problem with more concern but they couldnāt care lessā¦ I was most unimpressed & will never use it again.
A traditional inn, serves lunches and evening meals plus breakfasts if you stay over. Very helpful staff. Good food. Comfy rooms. The all important wifi. Good bar choices. Nothing not to like. 10 minutes from the Ryedale Folk museum. Beautiful location. Private parking at the rear.
