A traditional village pub, focusing on good company, conversation, and beer. Built as an alehouse over 250 years ago, The Oak has changed little in appearance, and in function, not at all.
We don't try to entertain, we don't aspire to be a restaurant. The Oak is simply a place to unwind, to leave behind the stresses and strains of the 21st Century. Somewhere you'll want to linger longer.
One of my favourite places to visit. Dave the landlord really knows how to look after real ale, shame he doesn’t pass his skills on to other landlords. Some excellent ciders, lagers and wines available too, but the beer is best. No juke box or pool table which is excellent if you want to talk with people. Dogs also welcome. Very comfortable and clean with a pleasant outdoor space. No food available except bar snacks. Plenty of space for cars and bikes.
It's a pity they don't sell food because I think it would do excellent it a friendly family run pub and they have real ales want more would you ask for
The best example of a well run, friendly and welcoming country pub. The owners have worked so hard to make a community hub that's always a joy to visit.
A fantastic real ale pub, does have cider on draft, lager and wines. Lovely feel to the pub. Very dog friendly.
Ha! Just laughed at the bogus reviews. Sorry those won't damage a great landlord like Dave as his pub (never a restaurant!) is a uniquely pleasant, charming place for a chat and a good pint. I appreciate he doesn't suffer fools.
