Award winning family-friendly pub located on Gloucester Rd. Great food, great beer and one of the best beer gardens in Bristol!!
The Royal Oak, situated on Gloucester Road in North Bristol, reopened in July 2009 after an extensive refurbishment by owners Neil and Olivia Greenwood. The pub offers a relaxing environment to enjoy a range of quality drinks and fresh, seasonal food. We are very proud to have won Pub of the Year in our first of year of opening as voted for by Evening Post readers.
We are very welcoming of children and have a large family friendly garden to be enjoyed throughout the year. A new addition to the garden for 2012 is our outdoor kitchen and wood fired pizza oven – check our What's on page for information on opening hours.

Came in here today for the first time and had a really lovely lunch. Teddy who served us was great, food was amazing and nice atmosphere. Will be returning!
Had a roast dinner here, it didn’t taste bad but the potatoes and the yorkshires didn’t seem freshly made. gave it a 4 star for the fact that you can have unlimited trimmings like roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings to fill you up and the nice lady serving us gave us extra plate fulls in the middle of the table. unfortunately only got a very small bit of meat with the dinner but with the extra trimmings it kind of makes up for it.
Great first experience. I was most impressed by the January £5 meal options. I wasn't expecting much for that price however, I had the chicken wrap with chips, it was absolutely amazing! Everything about it was fresh and a first class quality.
Dropped in for lunch and a couple of drinks before shopping. Good range of wines, beers, ciders and lagers. I had the Proper Job which was well kept, clear and delicious. The food was tasty and filling (Hunters Chicken). All in all, really well run pub and one we go back to when we're in that part of the Gloucester Road.
