Rooms could do with updating, the room I had had a very small enclosed shower which I could not use. Also the sink had no plug so very difficult to get a strip wash. Service at breakfast needs improving as not enough cutlery, or plates, but food was good.

Upon arriving at reception I was advised there may be a little inconvenience as the pub plays loud music. I didn’t realise the DJ was playing in my room. Some noise would be excusable but that is unbearable. No way is anyone getting any sleep. If I could leave zero stars I would

Booked a deluxe room and it was nothing like the pictures, it was tiny. The bed was clean and the other amenities of the room were fine, except for the WiFi which we could not even pick up on our phones. The bathroom wasn't great either, the toilet roll holder was loose and kept falling off the wall, there was an extractor fan that was placed into a cut out of the window - it didn't work and it made a right racket when the wind blew. The shower was the worst shower I've ever used, not that powerful and only seemed to have two settings - the fires of Mordor or Narnia's winter, had to clean myself flipping between the two. The breakfast was also awful. They had ran out of pretty much everything when we got there (which was early morning). Ended up going to McDonald's instead. I didn't expect The Ritz but at least expected a nice deluxe room and a bit of good food for breakfast seeing as we paid for it. Wouldn't stay here again.

Just left, not sure what's going on in this hotel. But got down to breakfast and the tables are not set out, no menus, no cups, one flask of hot water, no knives. Waited 25 mins for my full breakfast and then had to ask for cutlery. No coffee. I asked the rarely seen server if you pay extra for knives she said no you don't have to pay 😁. Remarkably bad service.

I arrived late, between 10:30 and 11:00pm off a train from London. The hotel called me to check I was still on route, reception/booking in was simple and as a young, lone female traveler I felt safe and assured with this very well priced stay. Close the train station, walkable even at night. Extremely handy for a stop-over on route from London - will be booking again!
