Visited the royal bar & shaker for some dinner and a few drinks. The refurb has given this place a lovely warm feeling, it looks amazing. The food was pukka and well presented, I’ve been in three times now. The staff are very polite and welcoming.
We stayed in the morecambe rooms opposite the bar, recently refurbished ( belonging to the bar and shaker ) Really nice, spacious rooms. The service was quick and efficient. Affordable prices too. There were lots of food selections to choose from, really enjoyed our stay. The only slight negatives, and they are slight, there may have been more selections on draught lagers and we had a bit of a wait for breakfast as one chef was working but everything was spot on
As our ferry to the IOM was cancelled 2 hours into our 4 journey to Heysham and we had our family dog with us, we needed a dog friendly place to stay close to the port really late at night. We were meant to stay at the hotel on our RETURN from the Isle of Man (that ferry was cancelled too) so I knew the owner’s number to see if there was availability. Chris answered straight away late at night, got the cleaners out late at night to prep rooms for us and put us up in fabulously renovated rooms. We cannot fault these rooms at all, they were perfect, so stylish and quiet too. We also had breakfast in the morning, it was so gorgeous, especially for the money we paid; my mother even said it was the best Eggs Benedict she’d ever had! This place is an utter gem in Morecambe. Chris and his team were so amazing, we cannot fault them and really hope to stay again. We’re actually very sorry our return ferry was cancelled from IOM purely because we don’t get to stay here again! I note that they are still renovating, so we did hear some work from about 9am onwards but check out is 10am so nobody should still be in bed by the time the workers roll around anyway!
Stunning rooms with a spectacular view, it's in a great location the bar is nice and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was cooked to perfection and good value for money.
First time here since the refurbishment and the food was excellent staff was lovely and very friendly, brought your order to the table so you didn't have to stand at the counter and wait 🥰
