The Rose of Lancaster is Chadderton’s finest pub and restaurant. We serve a range of Cask Marque accredited ales, quality wines from around the world and delicious pub food from our new Summer menus.
Our conservatory style restaurant and beer garden overlooking the Manchester and Rochdale canal is perfect for watching the sun shimmer off the canal.
There’s also our tap room where we show a number of live sporting events, complete with a separate bar. We always have a number of events taking place at the pub, head to our What’s On and sign up to our newsletter to keep in the loop and see what events we have coming up.
Booked a table for 3, but one of the guests was unable to make it. So we were shown a table for 2 in the middle of the room where the lights were very bright and the music was very loud. Ordered two Christmas festival dinners with all the trimmings. I noticed that 2 customers were sat at the table reserved for us. We were told we could not sit there as needed the space. I noticed the booth table had become free and asked if we could move there and was told yes. When the food arrived there was no yorkshire pudding or parsnips. Pigs in blanket was one of. We asked about this and was told that they would get us a Yorkshire pudding each which arrived sometime later. Very disappointed with this meal and even more disappointed with the service. Not once did any member of staff ask us if everything was okay with our meal or if we needed any more drinks. Customer service was dir especially as the restaurant was quiet. A member of staff came to clear our table and again we were not asked was everything OK with your meal.. Just do you want desserts. Yes we would like to see the menu and 15 minutes went by and no menu given to us. Instead we saw this member of staff taking an order for another table and we were completely forgotten about. The staff need training in social and people skills as checking on customers should be part of the service. I asked to speak to one of the staff who was near our table to let her know that we were both very disappointed in our meal and the service. All she could say was I am sorry.. We are regular customers and this experience has definitely put us both off coming back for a while.
Absolute gem of a place. So welcoming, family friendly and such a great atmosphere. We had 2 courses the Sunday Roast and Sticky toffee pudding, both delicious. Highly recommend
We had a lovely family lunch, good service. We highly recommend the Kids Sunday Lunch (note the generous portion) and the Cheese and Onion pie .
Good food and drinks menu with a large outside seating area with plenty of parking. Lots to choose from on the menu and it is reasonably priced. Been several times now and we have always had a good experience. The decoration is a little tired but it doesn't detract much from the overall experience. They have a nice kids menu and are family friendly.
even though it’s just a pub the food is still great, the atmosphere is lovely and the waiters are so nice and accommodating. we hadn’t booked but they squeezed in a table of 5 anyway, and we had a great time
