Excellent pub for a Sunday roast: delicious food, friendly staff and an open fire. Looks like there are nice walks nearby too. Will be going back!
Wonderful welcome, great range of beers and food looked amazing although we were walking through! So only stopped for a drink!! Highly recommended
This was a super Sunday pub lunch. Welcoming atmosphere, log fire, dog friendly, great service (very understanding despite us being half an hour late due to flooding encountered on our pre-pub walk). Very good starters of whitebait, prawn cocktail and BBQ ribs, and big portions of roast beef and pork belly. Excellent desserts such as forest fruits crumble. Only point for improvement - more than one cask ale on offer would be good.
Quick pint whilst taking the classic car out for a spin. The food looked good but didn't eat. They were busy inside but we sat outside. Great spot for walkers, cyclists, etc. Ale was okay, but there was no selection, so just green king ipa, which you can get in most places. Staff were friendly enough. They have brought back sandwiches, which the last management took away as it did turn gastro, now back to a proper pub. Just need to increase the ales. Even a bottle selection might help. Hope it goes well. I will visit again soon.
We had a lovely evening in the Rose, the staff are really friendly, nothing was too much trouble and the food was delicious definitely recommend. Nice to have a proper country pub that serves great food!
