A proper community pub, the Rose & Crown in Wrotham doesn’t do fruit machines or blaring TVs, just good ales, hearty food and a social bar - with muddy boots, walkers and well-behaved dogs all welcome.
Located right in the middle of the high street, it’s the heart of the village in every sense.
Kentish ales from Shepherd Neame are served alongside seasonal ales, regular guest beers from micro-breweries and an excellent selection of wines - all of which are perhaps best enjoyed beside one of two roaring fires in winter or warmer months on the patio.

Basic pub. Not that welcoming to new people. Regulars looking you up and down.
Had an evening walk around wrotham with the Tonbridge and Malling Ramblers and stopped here afterwards and had a great fish and chips meal. The beer was great and the hosts very friendly. Will go again.
Nice village pub. Good spread of beer including a very enjoyable session pale ale as in the photo...it comes in a 500ml glass though which is a little under a pint. Fine with me.
Visited The Rose & Crown yesterday for a Baby Shower party in the on site Old Barn. Nice Shepherd & Neame pub. Very well kept & clean. The Guiness was superb & the staff very helpful & friendly. The barn is a great venue for a party of up to 60 people. The real fire was great for atmosphere & taking the chill of a typical spring day. Will use again.
Lovely warm staff serving good quality traditional British food in a quaint village pub.
