Excellent accommodation, staff and quality of food. Michelin Guide accredited, this place is far from your average village pub and is perfect for a vacation or business travel. Located in an idilic village with far reaching rural views, it has a cosy atmosphere with well appointed modern guest rooms. Wonderful breakfast, generous portions and well priced food. Have stayed twice now and will definitely be returning.
The best country pub I’ve come across. Great drinks, amazing food, and the staff are so welcoming. Have been back several times now and will be back again soon. Thank you for your warm hospitality and plentiful supply of dog treats!
The food was exquisite and the service exemplary. The duck dish was delicious, and easily one of the best meals I’ve ever enjoyed.
We ate at the Garden Room Thursday night not knowing what to expect, with a brief list of the ingredients for each dish. Putting our trust in the chef we were amazed at the presentation and combination of flavours. Conversations flowed about how the dishes had been clevery put together and flavour some they were. Don't believe there is anywhere local that offers tasting menus at such high quality. We will be back to try some if the other very intriguing dishes. Would highly recommend.
The food was good but not great imho; my peppercorn sauce was too oily/buttery and not creamy enough for instance. The ambience could have done with some background music to cover the noisy fridge in a mostly empty room, which was let down further by a swarm of flies circling. The nice view of the fields outside was spoiled by the tatty gaffered up window.
