You may or may not be aware that The Roebuck Inn was due to close on Friday 30th
November 2012. The Landlords, Admiral Taverns Ltd, had no plans for a replacement
Tenant and were in the process of organising the building to be boarded up indefinitely on
Friday.
Julie and I have agreed to take on the lease, on a temporary basis and at considerable
financial risk to ourselves, in an attempt to prevent the imminent closure. We have had to
act very quickly to prevent the closure and we are determined and committed to ensure that
the pub remains open and used for the purposes for which it was intended and is returned
for use by the local community.
Whether you are a pub user or not, we are sure that you will understand the absolute
necessity to secure this very important village asset, not to mention the need to prevent the
blight on the village community of yet another boarded up and disused building.
We fully understand and appreciate that for the pub to attract users from village residents
things need to improve and they will. Short term, there will be small but important changes
and we hope to count on your support in using the pub in the interim. If you are not a pub
user, then any other forms of advice or assistance you can offer in general would be very
much appreciated.
