Good value for money 3*** hotel Rooms clean, tidy, comfortable. Bit dated needs upgrading. Staff were polite, and friendly and helpful. Restaurant menu extensive and very tasty.
We stayed at The Roebuck a couple of weeks ago: the room was a bit tired and dated but clean and comfortable. The service was friendly and attentive; the food excellent and the communal areas ooze with character. We returned for a meal this weekend (we love the area!) and experienced the same positives. The Roebuck is definitely a great venue for a meal out.
Great place for lunch. Large venue big enough not to get overcrowded like so many of the smaller pubs in the area with carpark. Food is very decent and wholesome, but nothing to write home about. Has not yet gone too gastropub, thank god! Has a pool table hidden away at the back and a garden patio for summer. Highly recommend if in the area. Staff very friendly and good service.
I stayed Monday 27th Nov and enjoyed the experience. The room was nice and adequate. The shower and bed were good, thanks. The food was excellent, compliments to the chef. All freshly made and not sat on a hot plate for half hour. I had mushroom and truffle soup to start and fish and chips to follow. Both were exceptional. Christmas lights up already ! Thanks to all staff.
Nice, comfortable bed, although the pillows were a bit hard. All the rooms have showers over baths, so that's a bit of a clamber if you have leg problems. The meals were fine, although the menu became a bit familiar after a few days. All the staff were lovely and made our stay very enjoyable.
