A 1960's brick built estate pub with a slight Moorish theme in some of the décor that reflects the pub's name. There are two connected, but distinctly different rooms. The bar area is quite lively, particularly if there is a sporting event being shown on the TV screen. This is also where darts and pool takes place. The homely lounge is generally the quiet area of the pub. This can change if the TV is showing a sporting event particularly a rugby game featuring the Northampton Saints when the colours black, green and gold will be predominant among the noisy lounge crowd. Cider is served from a polypin and will vary. There is a jukebox in the bar. Quiz nights take place on Tuesdays. The Old Peculiar is kept in oak barrels unsusual outside Yorkshire.

Good value drinks in a 80's style pub
A great little community pub, in the heart of Abington Vale. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. The pub is a pub of two halves. On one side you have a more traditional style pub, with classic decor. Whilst on the other side, it has a newer more modern feel, with a pool table (still 50p a frame), dart board and jukebox. Both sides of the pub have TVs and show major sporting events as well as the football across Sky and BT Sport. They have an outdoor seating area for the warmer months and it’s wheelchair accessible. The pub doesn’t serve food, just the usual pub and bar snacks (crisps, nuts, pork scratchings). Wide range of drinks including 4 guest ales that the landlord changes on a regular basis. A great little pub and one worth checking out if you live in the area or are just passing through.
