It was our first time visiting here and we had a good experience and would come again. This is the pub in our village, we frequently drive pass and wonder why it always busy and thought there must be something good. The food is very nice and has a big portion. We enjoyed it a lot.
This place was recommended by our BnB host. It. Was. Awful. 0/10 do not recommend. I wish I could post a picture of their alleged "prawn cocktail"; it was the most nasty thing ever, covered in mayonnaise. Oh wait, I CAN post a pic. Enjoy.
We ended up here hoping to find a place to watch a rugby match. They didn’t have the channel it was screening on but the amazing manager (after trying everything) was able to set us up with an iPad and we didn’t miss a minute of the game. We shared tapas which were all delicious and large portions as were the desserts. This was our last British pub experience before flying out the next day and by far our favourite. Very well priced drinks and food, super friendly staff and locals, topped off with a win for our team!
I'm going to say, I've been in England for a little over two weeks, this is the best service and fish & chips so far. The bartender was great, and I didn't feel like an outsider, most pubs in London were not as friendly. This is a solid neighborhood pub.
We did not have any food so cannot comment on that, however, from the comments I have heard from friends who are regulars here, have always said good things. The pub was quiet as it was early afternoon, but the atmosphere was still nice, with a friendly barman.
