Recently refurbished, the Red Lion is a family run pub situated in the centre of the popular racing and market town of Wetherby.
The pub is one of the oldest buildings in Wetherby with all original beams, and is still what you would call a ‘real’ pub. The Red Lion was voted the Racing Post, Racing Pub of the year in the North in 2008.We have 5 plasma televisons and a large screen showing BT Sport, Sky Sports, Racing UK and At The Races daily.
Excellent Pub Food is served daily from 11.30a.m til 2.45p.m, Monday – Thursday nights 5.30pm – 8.00pm and Sundays till 4p.m. OAP and children’s meals from £3.50.
Sunday Lunch with fresh vegetables and all trimmings with a choice of beef, lamb or chicken every week is just £6.75 or again pensioners and children’s at £4.45.
We have a very large beer garden and car parking facilities, outdoor television, heaters, wheelchair access, pool table and dartboard.

I live the other side of Harrogate to this pub. Daughter (lives in Weth’) took me in there one day, after walking the dog). Had a lovely traditional feel. Staff behind bar, friendly/chatty. When I saw their Theakstones “Old Peculiar”,, ordered one, asked about price, then had to tell the Landlord (Pete), that where I live there’s a Pub/Rest’ nearby (Boars Head) that sells “Peculiar” for £6 a pint. Red-Lions “Peculiar” was £4.45p. Needless to say, the “Boars” wants Rest’ business & not Local drinkers. Their loss & my/our gain. I’d rather bus the 9miles to be welcomed. Some companies just don’t understand Retail. They even have a Happy-Hour @4:30pm
Very friendly and helpful landlord. We asked if they had available of tnt sports to watch a game of football and the landlord couldn't have been more helpful. We will return next time we're on holiday this way again. Kind regards Chesterfield fc supporters.
Lovely Sunday dinner for a great price. Came quickly all freshly cooked. Fresh veg cooked to perfection came in a big bowl and a big gravy boat which I loved. Service was great. Would defo call again after a walk 👍
Lovely food and staff, all accommodating and went above and beyond to makesure we were all comfy and happy- dog and kid friendly too! No kids menu but still came out and offered my toddler chicken nuggets and chips. Great service😊
Called here on my parents recommendation. I booked ahead for 4 people + 1 dog. We all had Sunday lunch. The main menu is for during the week I believe. The food was lovely. The staff very friendly. The pub was spacious enough not to be sitting on top of one another and has its own car park. But most importantly for me dog 🐶 friendly. Will happily come back.
