I have used this pub for many occasions and I have always found the food especially the mixed grill always cooked perfect, big shout out to the kitchen team. Avoid. The food was the worst I’ve had for a long time. I ordered the “smashed avacado on toast” - what I received was neither smashed avacado, nor toast. Instead I was served soggy, warm, cheap sliced bread, and highly processed guacamole that had been very thinly spread. I can’t believe a kitchen allowed this to be served and I’m not sure how such a simple dish could go so wrong.
Sat in for lunch; The value for money of food and drinks were good. I had the mixed grill and it was very filling- didn't require me to order desert🙂. The staff were kind and quick with service. Definitely would return again.
Fab night with the family, food was excellent. We had a mixture of delicious eats, from burgers to steaks, nothing was too much trouble when we let them know of the gluten allergy, plenty on our plates making it really good value and a great mid-week treat, We’ve been at the weekends when they’ve had live music, always something different, great atmosphere, friendly staff and a real wood fire, lovely on these cold nights. Would definitely recommend for families or adult evenings.
The staff were really responsive and kind, and thoughtful, so let’s get that out the way. And the beer was good. But the smashed avocado toast was embarrassing. The stingiest portion of avocado I’ve ever seen (see the picture). This is Ripoff Britain writ large. Doing everything on the cheap. Imagine someone coming here and ordering this if you were from France, or Japan, or Italy, or America, or anywhere. You would never get a meal this bad in an equivalent place in those countries. We’ve lost our pride in this country.
