Traditional hotel and bar in the centre of the village. Open fire in the winter, pool table, sky sports, great food, cask beer and a warm welcome.

Stayed for 2 nights while fishing as part of a group of anglers taking over the rooms. First class hospitality and the rooms were very good too
I deleted my earlier review as not aware of the facts. Going by the reply to my review and talking to the locals. This looks like a bed and breakfast that does evening meals and opens the bar to residents only. Correct me if I am wrong I remember this being a normal pub that did good food for everyone
Last minute reservation turned out to be an amazing stay at The Red Lion hotel. Very friendly and welcoming owners, clean rooms, comfortable bed, atmospheric bar and amazing breakfast. Highly recommend.
We had an amazing stay, owners are really friendly and the rooms were clean. Food was amazing, owners go out of their way to help and make you feel welcome. The resident dog Hugo bear is always welcoming you at the door which was awesome. Location is also just an hour drive from Edinburgh. Lot of good countryside around to enjoy. Would definitely recommend it.
We had a wonderful stay. The welcome was very friendly Sue one of the owners met us at the door and she escorted us to our rooms then offering toowow0 cook us a meal of chicken chips and cauliflower cheese washed down with a couple of a local beer. Will definitely be returning. Well worth the 5 stars. Wish we could give it more. 🤩
