I really like this hotel. Suits my way of travelling. Forres is a good location for cycling. A day away from Inverness. Bike stashed in the ground floor cellar.
The room we stayed in was incredibly dated and run down, while we sought out a more economic option for our one night stay, we still left feeling as if we overpaid. Breakfast was incredibly mediocre. The staff was friendly.
There was a time when the Ramnee was a vibrant venue in Forres: a restaurant/bar, function space and hotel. Now it is a shadow of that and although it acts as a good hotel it doesn't really seen to be successful as it once was. The rooms are a bit tired and a good dose of capital investment would be desirable. I think if covid hadn't happened then this investment may have happened, but sadly not but it is now required.
Just visited for an event. We didn't stay here. It was ok. Toilet facilities need improvement. Nice little bar area. Very small fridge though so our drinks was warm. Had to ask for ice instead.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We received a warm and friendly welcome and all the staff went the extra mile. The rooms are lovely with great facilities, the beds are very comfortable and the grounds are beautiful. 10 out of 10 for the breakfast too. Highly recommended place to stay.
