We've just arrived at the Queen's Head Hotel and first impressions very good, lovely welcome at reception, room is very nice, beds comfortable, bathroom real nice, really big TV which is a nice touch, totally recommend
Little dark horse. I'm in hospitality and this place a wee delight. Staff r super friendly and care plus great atmosphere with locals and being dog friendly like my venue is a must. Love the loaded fries and nachos for lite share snacks. Great menu choices and brilliant allergen knowledge which is priceless and the girl behind the bar on 4th January 2024 we sat in the both with ny family's service dog and she was treated like royalty thanks to your girls. Well done guys truly awesome. When in Kelso make a belive to the queens head have lunch or dinner then take a stroll round the local sites by foot then round the famous cobble Square.
Nice enough room. Friendly staff but waited 30 minutes for breakfast. Rock hard poached eggs and luke warm, barely cooked tomatoes, haggis and black pudding. Sausage was nice. I'd understand if busy but I was only diner. Extractor fan in en-suite sounded like a tornado. Not good I'm afraid. Could be amazing, needs care.
We didn't stay here but had some drinks whilst our accommodation was readied. Excellent central location. Cold beer and good draft for the adults, coke for the kids. Food smelt delicious and I heard many compliments to the staff. Outside seating area opposite the Abbey green was pleasant in the warm evening. Staff were very helpful with an alternative location because it was full.
Room was very clean and spacious, reason for 4 star was traffic/ street noise(not hotels fault I know), ear plugs work a treat. Would definitely recommend for comfort and cleanliness. Excellent location for visiting local areas too.Very good breakfast service. Staff all welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend.
