Food was average. One of the fish was slightly overcooked though still edible and one regular was on the small side. Table had no view, unfortunately and the seating was very cramped. Service was slow and some staff quite grumpy. Probably best to try somewhere else.
We love going here even though we live a little further up the coast if we want "tea out." his is where we go ! The people who work here are always very friendly The Quayside is always immaculately clean. This is a testament to everyone who works here . Well done to you all x The food is cooked to order and always lovely and hot. My husband likes the Haddock and never has a bad one, and I have the scampi, which is better than the normal crumbed varieties Well, it's worth a visit any day of the week. I know we will be back again
Excellent service friendly reception and the usual excellent Fish and Chips. However, after visiting Quayside for many many years,we have decided not to return. I appreciate the cost of living crisis we are all experiencing at the moment but really,£49.00 for Fish and Chip dinner for 2? We visited Whitby last month, and as Quayside was closed on the day we came,we tried a new alternative fish restaurant which was as good, but nearly £20.00 cheaper for a similar meal. Sorry Quayside, but thanks for the fabulous meals over the years. Regards Steve F.
Great food. We had haddock and plaice and they were so fresh. Staff were not just pleasant and polite but friendly and good humoured too. We sat outside because we had our dog with us. But the outside area is accessed only from inside and fenced off from the pavement so there is not that worry of passers by treading on a tail, or our dog wanting to greet every other that walked past, so was relaxing as well as delicious. I didn't have dessert but my husband said his sticky toffee pudding was better than he has had elsewhere.
We visited Whitby to sample the fabulous fish and chips. We weren't disappointed. The food was amazing and catered for dairy and gluten free. Even offering Gluten free vinegar, our server Nancy was a star. She was amazing with our girls and made them feel so special. Emily our eldest wants to go back just to see her ....thank you all x
