Very much Timperley village’s pub of choice, and enormously popular with the locals of this thriving village.
Just 250 yards from the centre of Timperley the Quarrybank has a great beer range, excellent wines and delicious selection of home cooked food.
Relax, enjoying your drinks and food, in a traditional attractive setting or, in better weather, on the patio overlooking its well-kept bowling green.
Televised sport and regular entertainment are always well received by regulars at the Quarrybank. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Delicious food, in a local pub my locally native Father-In-Law had never been in in his numerous years. Although it was a Thursday lunchtime, they were quite busy which had a little impact on the service as the restaurant area was pretty full and there were plenty of drinkers in the bar area. I can recommend the black pudding and bacon stack, and the draught Guinness was absolutely spot on.
I was really surprised with the food - for a ‘pub’ the food was actually very good. I would have given this a 5 however, we sat in the bar after our dinner and there was a lot of swearing to my shock when we saw who was swearing it was a member of staff (I wouldn’t have downgraded the pub if it was cliental as they can’t control that much) the lady in question had jet black hair and glasses on her head - most customers don’t want to listen to anybody swearing and being potty mouthed (it’s even worse when it is a staff member). I hope on my next visit I can upgrade my rating to a 5 as the food was actually lovely and great value.
I recently visited the Quarry Bank in Timperley, Altrincham, and I must say, the atmosphere was incredibly relaxing. The bar staff were not only friendly but also attentive, making the overall experience enjoyable. The lager they serve is of excellent quality, and I found myself looking forward to returning for another visit. A great spot for those seeking a laid-back pub with top-notch service and great beer. However, I have been here 3 times for food, each time The food has been slightly undercooked, hard chips etc..I did the British thing and just ate them and went off to moan on the internet... It's normally a Good pub
Last visited about 10 years ago but used to come here back in 1974/75 when I lived locally. Flic on his first visit. Lovely Hydes pub with bowling green to rear and thus lots of outdoor seating. Good pint of Hopster, one of up to five Hydes real ales. Large open pub spread around the central bar. Flic likes this pub.
*** Revision of my previous review which was out of date by some years (sorry owner 😔). *** A great community local and very welcoming to everyone. Multiple TV screens showing sport and a great atmosphere The restaurant area, is quieter for dining, with table service and the food is delicious. The beer is Hydes and a great variety too of choice cask ales, which are all kept excellently, along with a good selection of other drinks. Nice comfortable outside drinking area overlooking a well kept bowling green. Staff professional and friendly. Look out for special events and offers on their website. A great pub all round. Well worth a visit. 👍

Honest quality food is what’s on offer; we’re all about traditional pub grub with a few extra options too.

The Moss Trooper is a friendly pub in the busy local community of Timperley, near Altrincham. Being owned by a family brewery means we offer the best cask ales in the area, and great, home cooked, pub food, with a warm welcome and friendly faces.
