Went in tonight for dinner with my partner and orderd the braemar chicken and chicken liver pate for mains with 2 lattes. The dressing they drowned the salad with was disgusting. Which in turn were not able to eat the salad, only got given 3 small oatcakes with the pate Aswel which isn’t enough. Moving onto the braemar chicken the broccoli was undercooked. The mashed potatoes under the chicken and sauce was soggy and horrible as was the cheap black pudding inside the chicken. I barely eat any of it and when it came to the end of the meal I complained about these issues at the bar and asked if she was still going to charge me for something I complained about and did not eat. To be told i will go get the manager. The manager came over an older woman who was very rude and tried the usual “I asked you through the meal if anything was wrong and you didn’t say”. I did not want to cause a fuss at the table in front of customers so I waited until we went to pay and she was very rude and shocking customer service. I told her I wasn’t happy with this and she continued to charge me full price then took some discount off the bill a whole £5. Shouldn’t have had to pay anything for the meal I barely eat and complained about but seems to be anything just to get your money from you these days. After giving this place a chance 2 times I will NOT be back and they need to improve on their customer service instead of being rude.
We only stopped off for food. A really nice atmosphere in the restaurant with very nice friendly staff. Food was very nice and reasonably priced
Just in for a late lunch, had the fish, fries and peas..it was okay, almost £17 for that(plenty of food), It's a 7 out of 10 for my score. Also tried the chicken burger after as my daughter didn't like it, It was bland and lacking seasoning and the chicken was a wee bit tough .
Just stopped in for a spot of light lunch with a friend, so can't comment on the rooms. We both had a bacon and egg roll which was nicely cooked and presented as you would expect for a very presentable dining room. The staff were friendly and polite, although there seemed to be an overabundance of serving staff for a dining room that was virtually empty mid afternoon. All in all, I'd say it was perfectly fine but as we were just there for a quick snack it would be unfair to offer any in-depth critique. Nice place, nice staff, nice town. Decent food from what I gather. I would recommend giving it the benefit of the doubt apart from the overpriced canvases hanging on the walls.
We had dinner here. Food was definitely microwaved, you could just taste that very clearly. Pizzas probably frozen but definitely not fresh. Service was really hard working, so the stars are only for them.
