First time we ate here since the new landlords have taken over the management of the pub and I can tell you that the food is at its best, supersedes the quality of the previous owners'. They are also very welcoming and they work hard to make this pub extraordinary.

This pub was a short walk from our hotel so was the perfect location. A great selection of well kept beers and wonderful food made it the perfect evening experience. My wife had the Ox cheek which was beautifully cooked and I had the fish and chips which was fantastic, but be warned also very hot and massive. Very friendly staff. The only thing I would say was it had a very slightly local ( your not from a round here) feel to start with.

Walked down for a lovely dinner with my partner and our puppy. Had a beautiful meal, with a great selection of beers. We ordered ox cheek and a pork chop. The food was fantastic and inexpensive, and the renovations look great.

Arriving at the pub, I was really hungry. Leaving I was not. A huge serving of fish&chips (I did order extra chips) made a difference. The chips were really good. The fish was fresh and a very rich serving. But partly because of a very generous battering, which was slightly overcooked to my taste. All in all a nice dinner at a reasonable price level.
