About us

The Prince Albert opened it’s doors for the very first time in the mid 1800’s under the ownership of it’s first landlord, Mr Thomas Brown. Nine landlord/landladies later, Martin and Wendy Higgins took the reigns becoming the proprietors in 1999. The pub temporarily closed in 2005 as we undertook a series of renovations. During the works we added seven letting rooms and a fine dining restaurant, as well as extending the rear of the building.

Located on the edge of the historic town of Windsor, we have easy access to the M3, M4 and M25. The Albert, as it is affectionally known by locals, plays close host to a variety of landmarks including Windsor Castle, Frogmore, LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, Virginia Waters and more. Whether you are having a city break, taking the children to Legoland or are in town for business, The Prince Albert really is the perfect place to accommodate all your needs.

We are proud to offer a warm welcome, excellent food, a well-stocked bar, comfortable accommodation and free Wi-Fi. Free parking is also available.

Went for a work Christmas meal. Must of been 20 of us… 10 on each table. We pre booked meals so they know what we were having… most people got the Christmas turkey meal. Few of the rest got another option(seabass)The food came out in parts. We couldn’t all eat together… food also was warm not hot. The last 4 people got their food after everyone had eaten the roast dinner. It wasn’t organised properly. I also got a dinner knife accidentally drop on me coat which was hanging on the back of my chair ad no apology. Just a oh there’s my knife I dropped and I clearly showed it was on my coat. Not impressed really.

I'm local and I came in last Sunday for the first time and had a chicken roast which was do lovely I returned this week. Unfortunately this week is my last visit as everything was near on cold, the vegetables weren't even cooked and the whole thing was absolutely horrible.

We booked in for the night so that we could visit Windsor castle and the river...We arrived early and took a slow 30 minute walk to the waterfront. The room was clean and very comfortable and the breakfast was nice...Everyone was friendly and helpful and were happy for us to leave our car in the carpark for the second day .Taxi was only £6.00 if you don't want to walk, much cheaper than the carparks in town. Had a lovely visit to the Castle and a nice boat ride along with river...great couple of days..would happily stay here again.

Can’t mention anything about the rooms as we didn’t stay, but we visited while passing to go to legoland and cannot fault their hospitality, so I can imagine a stay here would be great! We came in as a big family just passing for breakfast and they mentioned they weren’t serving but opened the doors to us anyway and made an exception. They were very attentive, regularly asked if we were alright and if we wanted anything else. The food was great and the price was on point. Next time we come to legoland we would definitely consider staying here.
