I am from this town and my Son and Mother still live there I was visiting as I now live 25 miles away . I thought it would be good to have Lunch my wife my son who was working nearby and my self. In the past I have had very good meals both in the week and Sunday Lunches. However this visit did not go well the bar was not busy and we ordered our food . No mention of how long it would take and we sat and waited . At 40 min we had to go and I went to the bar and said I will pay for the drinks but please cancel the food we have to go. The barman went into the kitchen came back out and said that's OK. I offered to pay for the drinks he said no . Then as I was leaving said under his breath and do not come back , I asked him what did you say he said again do not cone back the Chef will not cook for you we had waited 40 min with no food and no explanation of a possible delay .

Great place to stay. The door to the family room was deceiving, husband is over 6ft and the door was only 5ft but the kids thought they were entering narnia. Room was large and we all had space to move around and had biscuits and coffee/tea facilties. Location was good - a bit back from the road so it was quiet but close to things we needed/wanted. Meal was great in the pub - would definitely go back.

Stayed for one night whilst travelling from South to Mid Wales, perfect location. Room was clean, shower was hot and bed was comfortable. Stairs and landing a bit creaky, but that only added to the charm. Staff were very welcoming and the food was great. The portions were large, very good quality and reasonably priced. I would definitely return and recommend. Many thanks.

Lovely old Inn offering a variety of drinks, classic menu and dog friendly rooms. Fantastic location on the outskirts of town, with easy access to the beautiful Welsh countryside, and close to a large supermarket for supplies. The pub boasts a long history, and this is reflected in the layout and size of the accommodation. The rooms are small but comfortable, with toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities. Our room was on the first floor, directly above the main entrance. With it being a Saturday night, there was a band playing until midnight which was incredibly loud. I don't think noise would be an issue on the second floor, so if you're staying at the weekend, it may be worth asking if they have upper floor rooms available. The rooms are accessible by a flight of stairs, and there are more steps within the rooms to get into your private bathroom. Potentially a problem for those with mobility issues. The bed was very clean and comfortable, and we found a much needed tower fan in the wardrobe to cool us down. Unfortunately the curtains leave quite a large gap at the top and bottom which let's a lot of light in. The main door to the lit hallway also has large gaps top and bottom which leaves the room a little bright. The breakfast was an extra charge, but worth every penny to set us up for the day. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we were delighted to also meet the resident cat.

I drove down from Essex and got there just before 3pm and the colleague that checked me in was kind enough to let me go up to the room before check in time. The room was lovely with comfortable bed. The food was tasty with good portions Would definitely stay again. My only ask is they look at the water pressure as the shower wasn’t great
