We called in here on spec whilst narrowboating on the Mon and Brec. Excellent service and one of the best meals we've enjoyed out in a long time. All was served very hot, plenty of it and friendly staff. We certainly plan to return (though as we live in Devon it's a bit of a journey for an evening out!) Thanks very much!

What a hidden gem. We didn't expect such fabulous food in a country pub. A seafood platter beyond compare! Amazing service and super dog friendly too. Highly recommended.

Set in a picturesque setting beside the canal with views of hills and woodlands that you would expect from the Brecon beacons national park this place is worth a visit. The staff are very respectful and welcoming and the food of a good quality with the portions being ample. Price wise I would say slightly, and only slightly, above the average for the area. Although this is obviously a food led pub they do have a good selection of keg and cask on the bar. Wines and gins are also varied but other 'top shelf ' drinks less so. As for the accommodation this is all on the first floor with nothing to assist anyone with a disability that prevents the climbing of a relatively steep flight of stairs. Whilst it's to do with the age and layout of the building itself and nothing to do with the current ownership the room we occupied had a few steps and trip hazards for the unwary. Having said that it was spacious, clean and comfortable.

A mate and I stayed over the weekend to do some hills. We had a great stay the landlady and landlord we absolutely brilliant nothing was to much trouble. The girls who make up the staff were both friendly and professional and extremely helpful and attentive. The landlord is also the chef and the standard and quality of the food is excellent whilst he is busy in the kitchen he will always between service pop out and come and say hello his wife is also extremely busy taking care of front of house, chatting to guests and making sure everyone is happy, it was an absolute pleasure to stay , I have stayed in a few places in the area over the years and I can say the welcome and hospitality is truly both warming and genuine. I will most definitely be staying again
