After having spent a lazy morning doing a whole bunch of not much, we decided that we'd head out for some lunch. Unfortunately, most of the pubs near us on a tuesday are closed at lunch! Not the Fountain Inn though. Having looked at the menu online, I found that they did an all day breakfast which was perfect, even including the option for beans OR tomatoes (beans obv) and toast or fried bread (fried bread of course). We immediately set sail to the town and parked up behind the pub, got in, ordered and sat down. Breakfast was swift arriving, hot and very nice. The combination of saute potatoes and hash brown was weird, but went with it. I'd like to have had an option for black pudding but there was plenty without it. It did include a coffee/tea which we weren't asked about and so never received but we had other drinks anyway and weren't that fussed about its omission. All in, it was a great ltitle pub with great drinks selection, great food selection (deserts looked awesome!) and we were pleasantly suprised with the price (something similar back home would have cost £3-4 extra PP) Thanks!

We went to The Fountain Inn for lunch during our holiday in Wales, while exploring the town of Builth Wells and had a lovely time! The Fountain Inn’s food was great. We had the tuna sandwich, bacon and tomato sandwich, and cheese jacket potato and all lunches were very nice. Also, the service we had from Jess was excellent, she was so friendly!

Dropped in here a handful of times but of first time for food, 3 x meals all super fresh, hot and good quality. The atmosphere and dog friendly nature is the main draw for us, lots of selection of beer, lager and ciders etc. We'll be back for sure, if not next week, it'll be the weekend after. Thanks, Matt, Sam and Luther

A friendly welcoming High Street pub in the centre of Builth Wells. 3 real Ales plus a real cider, all in excellent condition, and the Jewel in the Crown has to be the superb all day breakfast at £7. An absolute must if you are passing this way.
