The Postgate Inn is a traditional country inn and restaurant that dates back to 1860. We provide bed and breakfast accommodation in the village of Egton Bridge, situated in the heart of the North York Moors National Park and less than 20 minutes from Whitby.
Egton Bridge is an ideal base to explore the North Yorkshire region. We are located just over a mile away from the railway station of Egton that is serviced by the popular North Yorkshire Moors Railway. The city of York is only an hour away and other places such as Robin Hood's Bay and Pickering are only a short distance.
The Postgate Inn offers bed and breakfast accommodation in three comfortable rooms, each with an ensuite bathroom. Our quality restaurant provides a wide selection of home cooked food that is sourced from local suppliers, whenever possible. Our menu changes on a regular basis to reflect the seasons and there are always daily specials available.
We have a pleasant beer garden where residents and customers can relax and enjoy the sunshine and the North Yorkshire scenery.

Fantastic food! Beef Wellington was absolutely delicious, staff very friendly and attentive - lovely local pub feel, we will definitely be back if in the area!
Love this place, ridden past it loads so popped in. Friendly vibe, easy going & good beer. It will be even better when I come back next time on a sunny day instead of a rainy winters day. Having said that it was still class!
Called in for food, really tasty! Dog friendly too. Staff lovely and friendly 😊 definitely recommend 👌 xx
Great pub great food brilliant staff who share the idea that nothing is too much trouble, a great place to stay. And very reasonably priced.
We came here on a Sunday for lunch they offered a main menu, lunchtime and sandwich menu which was nice due to the main menu not having any vegetarian options on (no meat or fish). Our table ordered a range of dishes all were well portioned for the price and tasty. I got a brie and cranberry sandwich which felt perfect for lunchtime. From the dessert board my table ordered the cheese board and a berry cheesecake. Staff were very nice we sat in the part where dogs were allowed and it felt very cosy.

Come and see our 18th century inn, set in the quaint village of Egton. We are situated less than 7 miles from Whitby and on the main road that crosses other villages such as Glaisdale, Grosmont and Egton Bridge. A short walk from Lady Cross Caravan site.
